In celebration of his 30th birthday recently, Adam Gyorgy performed to a sold out audience at New York City’s Carnegie Hall. On June 8th, Adam will open the 2012 UEFA European Football Championship in Warsaw, Poland. Already achieving a rock-star status in classical music, Adam Gyorgy will perform live at one of the most watched TV coverage sport events in the world, the 2012 UEFA European Football Championship’s opening ceremony. The viewership is estimated to be over 300 million.

Adam will be performing a Chopin piece. “The idea of the composition was to create something that brings the classical tradition of Chopin into sport environment. I am a classical artist, I wanted to keep the old way of performing, so I am playing an original Chopin composition in this unusual setting. I had to have it and the entire team believes this concept. It’s not only about connecting two different cultures, but also introducing pure classical music into a very unique environment. It’s a major challenge.”

Adam himself is a major football fan, practices soccer as his daily routine and had previously been selected to the Hungarian National Futsal team. He has been spending much of his time in the United States lately, in support of his new album “Adam Gyorgy Plays Liszt, Bach and Mozart” which has just been released this month and is available on iTunes. The press has embraced Adam Gyorgy in a big way. CNN World News Television has called Gyorgy “a rising star”.

On composing the music for the ceremony, Adam Gyorgy collaborated with Karmatronic, the international DJ with Italian origin who has worked on remixes for superstars such as Beyonce, Kelly Rowland, Britney Spears, Pussycat Dolls and Shakira. The musical production of Adam Gyorgy and Karmatronic represents a unique encounter of different musical styles. They will play a song they co-wrote, performing with hundreds of dancers. They are contributing to a realization of new musical world, while they are being faithful to their own styles and identity.
